Lior Tamim is an artist living in Brooklyn, New York. His installation-based work incorporates a wide variety of mediums, including photography, video, performance, painting, and sculpture. In his work he often transforms himself into different characters, fully adopting their way of life. Many of these characters are masculine archetypes: in recent years, he has lived as a hunter, a soldier, and a nomad. His work examines existential states, transcends conventional limits of self-construction, and blurs the distinction between art and life. His installations are displays of violence and humor, engaging the viewer in an experience of intimacy and vulnerability.
Tamim had recently completed his bodybuilding project, which he developed over the course of two years. As his final act in his bodybuilder character, last April he participated in a professional bodybuilding competition in Albany, NY.
